The Goddess Summons
Currently, we have a most pronounced celestial transit occurring among the goddess asteroids and today, we arrive at 10 aspects of the asteroid Pallas Athene, then increase to twelve aspects by 9:32 am on May 12. So what does this mean and indicate? To begin, Pallas Athene is one of the goddess asteroids, named after the Greek goddess, Athena. Her energetic domain is austere, strong and willful. Athene was the goddess of Zeus and she embodies wisdom, stoicism, diplomatic reasoning and she oversaw the strategy of war, which emphasis her cerebral influence on societal matters. Interestingly, I found this article, regarding Athene as the most violent asteroid in our solar system, which certainly echoes the perception of it embodying a warrior frequency. Athene’s archetypal and active presence in our current celestial system, certainly points to the diplomatic negotiations happening behind closed doors. It’s pretty common knowledge that this is occurring, as a necessity; in light of the pandemic. But what I find ultra revealing is how many aspects this energy is engaging with; which speaks to its expansive reach throughout our global society. Usually, a planet or asteroid will have around 3-4, maybe more aspects, but twelve is extremely active and deserves our attention.
To start, aspects essentially indicate energy shared between planets and asteroids, based on their mathematical proximity to each other. The more active the aspects, the more energy we see in an astrology chart. First, I see Saturn, Jupiter and Pluto are all conjunct Pallas Athene, which considering the heavy, patriarchal energy these planets embody; its a blessing these are not in a harsh angle. However, my one note of caution and something I always share with my astrology students; is that conjunctions can sometimes blur the boundaries between planets. It’s not necessarily bad, but sometimes it can cause one or both planets to take on the frequency of the other planet so much, it is lesser distinguished in its own identity. This is where things can get very nuanced in their expression, here on earth. The conjunct planet Saturn gives rise to structure, timelines, material ambition and Jupiter gives rise to expansion, idealism, international matters and higher vision. We will see how human design chooses to use these influential frequencies. Our Moon is also conjunct Pallas Athene, but contrary to the other conjunct planets, she imbues our celestial weather with an intuitive, feminine, receptive quality. I think we will see government officials reaching for their more instinctual perceptions when it comes to these precarious pandemic matters and I’m sure we will see some extra cautionary measures enacted on the global front. It would do us all well, for these officials to reach out to feminine counsel at this time, as the moon is a protectress energy; emotional, orderly and instinctively maternal. Divine feminine energy is further emphasized as the asteroid Juno is trine Pallas Athene. In mythological terms, this would be the meeting of step-mother and daughter, to discuss wider societal matters in a diplomatic way. And I do sense an undercurrent of feminine energy becoming more active. I can say personally, that I have been in close counsel with my own mother, who also operates a spiritually based business, about how we can best respond to this current pandemic sustainably and for the greater good of all.
Athene is also trine Mercury, which gives rise to diplomatic thinking and modes of self expression. Let’s hope this clarity is well utilized by those officials who’s decisions which affect our global culture. Pallas is sextile our Midheaven, which will surely put these developments on the wider, visible stage. The one tense aspect I see is Uranus squaring Pallas, which can influence sudden, unexpected change. The two most interesting aspects to me are the most subtle ones; but they pack some real influence. We have Pallas quintile Lilith and Mars semi-sextile Pallas. The Lilith aspect points to a subtle blending of constructive opposition, as the path leading to subsequent creative solutions. What’s strange about this, is it involves Lilith, the “Dark Mother” aspect of our collective..which I saw alarmingly positioned just as the Covid virus was brewing...I didn’t like it then and I don’t like it now, especially since its in the same domain as asteroid Chiron, the realm our collective “wounded healer”. One caveat, is we may see some actual resolutions in the darker sphere of matters. Further, this Mars aspect reveals an air of surrender; giving rise to unseen pathways when we let go of our plans. This energy is profound, yet undefined; and ’m most interested to see where this expression arises in our shared reality. My intuition tells me that some, but not all will be revealed about this mysterious pandemic.
Lastly, our collective, nodal soul expression, which just moved into Gemini, is inconjunct Pallas, which essentially means there is an ambiguous challenge between this diplomatic expression and our collective soul direction. It will be interesting to see how this bodes, since by contrast, our sun; the sign of our fullest expression, is in beneficial reception to Pallas. When it comes to the divine feminine summoning our highest societal aptitude, will we shine bright for the moment, at the expense of burning out our higher selves and longer term self growth? Or will we rise to the occasion with wisdom and diplomacy for all? Only time will tell.
