Celebrating MLK: The Astrology of a Living Dream
To honor the life of Dr. King, I’ve explored his unique astrology imprints, as indicated in his natal chart. They reflect his unique soul mission and foundational expressions. My findings speak poignantly of the character of the man we know and love. First, I’d like to define some terminology in this article. Here, I speak of Christ the man, not the religion. I speak of consciousness as energy made aware of itself. Sovereign refers to a consciously embodied individual who has complete domain over their spiritual presence. No reference to feudalism, which is an insidious form of bias and oppression, is implied. And sacrifice, as I’ve learned it, means to make sacred.
Mercury
Dr. King possessed the mind of a true revolutionary. Expressed in the sign of Aquarius, the humanitarian; his mercurial consciousness reached beyond the confines of our third dimensional reality, yet completely enveloped it; greatly reflecting this etheral energy signature. He encompassed a sincere understanding of universal truths and humanized them in a way that accessible to all. world and Extending beyond our earthly reach, is a universal understanding with an ingrained detachment to bias. And such consciousness expressed itself in the peaceful, yet revolutionary ways that Dr. King guided.
North Node
Dr. King’s Nodal (Soul) Axis in the energy signature of Taurus, spoke to an individual who incarnated to usher spiritual transformation into structure, form and embodiment. This is so relevant, when we see that he literally guided the revolution to end segregation, which sought to divide and control the presence of people by way of physical estrangement. This Nodal (Soul) Axis that Dr. King embodied, is also the spiritual cycle all of humanity is heading into tomorrow. We’re emerging into a new realm of consciousness to learn to refine similar karmic lessons for the next year and a half. It seems that from even beyond the veil, Dr. King is guiding the way with his very presence.
Sun
His fullest expression reflected his Sun sign in Capricorn; a fatherly energy ruling steady, ambitious goals and determination. I think we can agree he had this energy in spades. His Saturn, the planet guiding Capricorn, positioned in the realm of Sagittarius, solidified a real, measurable progress upon the path of his divinely inspired morals, beliefs and wisdom.
Midheaven
Also in Capricorn, began his Midheaven, or “Highest Heavens,” where an individual has endless access to the power of the energy signature placed there. His exact point of origin stationed directly in manifesting Capricorn, but also extended through nearly the entire realm of Aquarius; the sign of universal consciousness. This Aquarian presence is a beautiful, cosmic pattern that continuously weaves itself through Dr. King’s unique soul expression. He truly came to earth to be a humanitarian leader.
Venus
I think the most revealing and resonant imprints of Dr. King were his Moon and Venus in Pisces. Known among us advanced astrologers, Pisces is the realm of unconditional love, surrender and universal spirit. And very notably; Christ Consciousness. Having his Venus positioned here, spoke to his capacity for love with universal breadth, forgiveness and genuine compassion. His approach of disarmament and peaceful protest are clearly direct extensions of this Piscean energy. Having both his moon and Venus here, spoke to a deep, likely visceral and very visionary, emotional intelligence which extended outward to all of humanity. It is this tandem Piscean energy which I trust is the inspiring source of his “I have a dream” speech, as Pisces nurtures the realms of dreams; of the boundless imagination and compassionate healer. Sadly, another congruent, yet not compulsory energy of Pisces is that of victim-hood. And we see a confluence of his energetic imprints point to a great man who was martyred for sacrificing his very heart and soul to unite humanity.
Sovereignty
Dr. King justly embodied his namesake by working tirelessly as a true sovereign for the people. And as a psychic woman, I recognize Dr. King as an eternal presence. So, during this time of remembrance, I feel it’s important to acknowledge his presence as one that continues to extend into the imaginations of the collective human heart. As every soul who is touched by his work, his mission and his consciousness; Dr. King’s spirit truly evolves as a power to the people and we are too.
