May/June 2020 Astrology Forecast

Today, the Sun has moved into the mercurial sign of Gemini! Mars has also shifted, having arrived into deeply subconscious Pisces on May 13th to stay until June 27th! This is a beautiful meeting of mind and magic, which allows us full breadth of opportunity to make our unconscious conscious, explore our imaginations and express our creative selves. Our New Moon centers on May 22nd, arriving in Gemini at 9:34 am, EST. This is an auspicious day to seed intentions within the realm of the mind, communication and expression. Our next Full Moon is June 5th, officially. However, I recognize the full moon as a 3 day cycle. It’s not like it shrinks to a new moon immediately after! Thus, it’s effects notably crescendo from the day before through the day of and after. I encourage you to take notice of the subtleties of this energy. Notably, this full moon is a lunar, penumbral eclipse, which is when the earth’s shadow falls on the Moon. I've placed a video below which explains lunar eclipses. I have to be honest, the moon; which is in Gemini’s counter sign of Sagittarius, is not very well aspected this day. It’s receiving 7 harsh aspects, with the only lunar relief coming from Chiron, which you may know from my previous articles; is the “Wounded Healer”. When Sagittarius energy is polarized and/or conflicted, it can emerge as extreme righteousness, inflexibility and withholding. When in it’s fullest expression, it gracefully purifies aspects of reality into gold. For this reason, I always regard Sagittarius as something of an alchemist. We will all need to be that much more in our heart space on this full moon day, so let us intend to see the higher octave expressions of Sagittarius when this luminary arrives.

Don’t despair, however; because across the sky, Jupiter is doing quite an interesting dance. There are subtle energies at play here combined with larger, more expressive ones, which Jupiter loves, of course. On this Full Moon day, Jupiter is conjunct (close and harmonious) Pluto (shadow, transformation), Saturn (control, ambition, the Patriarchy) and Pallas Athene (goddess asteroid of stoic wisdom, strategy and diplomacy). It is also in graceful reception to Neptune (subconscious, visions, spirit, healing). Vesta continues her transit by conjuncting our North Node (collective soul expression), which I wrote an article about, but is essentially a gateway opportunity for healing the Sacred Feminine. Vestal Virgins were ordained Priestesses of ancient Rome and received elevated status in society during and after their 30 year dedicated service term. Now is the time to source a sacred teacher of the feminine arts, to study ancient sacred feminine rites, rituals and history or align with a well vetted Priestesshood. Further Sacred Feminine energy is found in a notable transit of asteroid Pallas Athene moving into Capricorn, which is akin to the goddess of diplomacy (and war strategy) arriving to the “boy’s club,” as the heavy presence of Jupiter and Pluto reside here. She is also still beneficially aspecting Saturn, which is the next realm over, in Aquarius. Interestingly, her transit moves into closer and closer harmonious reception to the Patriarchal energies in Capricorn throughout June, until reaching an auspicious alignment. On June 29th, Pluto, Jupiter and Pallas; all meet at the same 24th degree of Capricorn. I love heavenly alignments like this and I sense that major activations of alignment and re-solution in the areas of the Sacred Feminine and the Patriarchy will arise. Will the masculine and feminine energies begin to find common ground? I certainly like to think Pallas Athene is bringing her powers of diplomacy, strategy and and wisdom to court.

Mercury’s summer retrograde cycle occurs June 18th 12:59 am, EST through July 12th at 4:26 am, EST. Retrogrades simply imply the re-s of reality, such as re-solution, re-solve, re-view, re-pair, re-connect, etc. Our world needn’t unravel. This is just a potent opportunity to review details pertaining to communication, logical mechanics and to shift our dependency on electronics to a more analog realm for a phase. Just as the moon signifies to us monthly; everything must rest at some point; and this includes our minds. Momentum will begin to gather quickly on June 27th, when Mars moves from psychic, watery Pisces into fiery Aries at 9:25pm, EST! And the day that Mercury goes direct, the Moon will also join Mars in Aries, so events will certainly have the cosmic influence to accelerate. On June 21, we have a solar eclipse in Cancer, which is a potent time of transformation, as eclipses provide a surge of power, allowing us to literally eclipse anything out of our lives which does not serve our highest. The sign of Cancer relates to intuition, motherhood, the ocean, one’s literal and figurative sense of home and these areas may be especially pronounced at this time.

May/June is an interesting time and I always suspected that the quarantine constraints would shift as soon as our collective nodal soul path moved beyond the polarized Cancerian transit and into Gemini; because Gemini is the social butterfly of the Zodiac and relishes connection. Still, I’m most excited about the Pallas Athene transit. Let’s pay close attention to the world stage and in our own locales during this celestial cycle. And to close, I want to remind you; dear reader, that our collective visions, thoughts and imaginations always shape our environment. Celestial frequencies are something to learn to work with; never to under or overestimate. Finding that balance is what I’m here to encourage. As always, sovereign choice reigns, so what do you want to create during this potent time and most interesting start to summer?
